DeniedPixels (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the DeniedPixels browser extension and the deniedpixels.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

DeniedPixels is built on a fundamental principle: your images never leave your device. Our browser extension uses an on-device AI model that runs entirely inside your browser. No images, screenshots, or browsing content are ever sent to our servers or any third party. We cannot see, access, or store the content you view.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Account & License Information

When you create an account or purchase a subscription, we collect:

  • Email address (for account creation and communication)
  • Name (if provided during checkout)
  • Payment information (processed securely by Whop — we do not store your card details)
  • License key and device identifiers (to manage activations across your devices)

For iOS/Safari users, subscriptions are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple manages your payment information according to their privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy. We receive only a transaction confirmation and subscription status — never your payment details.

2b. Extension Data

The DeniedPixels extension stores your preferences (censor style, sensitivity settings, enabled body parts, etc.) locally in your browser using the browser’s built-in storage APIs. If you use the Shared Access feature or settings sync, your preferences may be transmitted to our server so they can be shared with your designated controller.

We never collect:

  • Images or screenshots from your browsing
  • URLs or browsing history
  • Detection results or what content was censored
  • Any content from the pages you visit

2c. Newsletter Subscription

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and IP address. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.

2d. Website Usage

When you visit our website, we may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and analytics purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • License management: To activate and validate your subscription across devices
  • Payment processing: To process subscription payments via Whop
  • Account management: To provide access to your account and support
  • Settings sync: To sync your extension preferences if you use the Shared Access feature
  • Communication: To send transactional emails (receipts, license keys) and, if opted in, product updates
  • Security: To protect against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
  • Subscription management (iOS): To verify your subscription status via Apple’s StoreKit framework. We do not receive your Apple ID or payment method.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Whop: For payment processing. Whop’s privacy policy: whop.com/privacy
  • Apple: For iOS subscription processing and validation. Apple’s privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
  • Shared Access controllers: If you enable Shared Access, your designated controller can view and modify your extension settings. They cannot see your browsing activity or detected content.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for:

  • Authentication: To keep you logged in to your account
  • WooCommerce: To manage your shopping cart and checkout process

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
  • License data: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days.
  • Extension settings: Stored locally in your browser. Server-side copies (for Shared Access) are deleted when the feature is revoked.
  • Payment records: Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.

7. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions (iOS)

DeniedPixels offers auto-renewable subscriptions via Apple’s App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing (e.g., newsletter)

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all communications, secure password hashing, and regular security reviews. Payment data is handled entirely by Whop and never touches our servers.

10. Children’s Privacy

DeniedPixels is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
